This paper introduces the features of 7m top-charging coke oven battery and the technology of combination combustion waste gas circulating and multistage heating combustion,batter proper structure,coke oven machinery,process equipment,intellectual control technology and environment protection.7m top-charging coke oven battery has the advantage of advanced process equipment and high level environment protection.Coke produced by 7m top-charging coke oven battery can meet the requirement of large scale blast furnace.
This paper introduces NOx discharging conditions and NOx formation mechanism,makes a conclusion for the study development of low NOx combustion technologies such as waste gas circulation combustion,air classification combustion,fuel classification combustion,high temperature air combustion,bias combustion,low NOx combustor and catalytical combustion.It points out that future study will focus on low NOx combustion of COG.It is very hopeful to realize high efficiency and low pollution combustion of COG by combining low NOx combustion technology and traditional combustion mode of coke oven battery and boiler.
This paper describes the research and application in coal blend technology for need of large capacity blast furnace.The coke quality can be assured by various kinds of solutions,such as further classifying coal kinds,rationally evaluating coking coal behaviors,optimizing coal blending and logically arranging storage,etc.to be used for large-capacity blast furnace production.
Maceral and microlithotype of seven coking coal samples,and the microstructure of their corresponding coke are analyzed.It is found that well distributed mineral is good to coke forming,while lump or large particles of mineral have bad effect to coke forming.Coking coal with high ash content and fat coal,if with high proportion of carbominerite and low minerite,have good coking property,and can be used as blends for coke production.Comparatively,the proportion of carbominerite in gas coal and lean coal has little effect on their coking property.
This paper introduces an innovation for increasing the heating level of coke oven battery from 1 210mm to 1 650mm as a solution to the problems due to the excessively high temperature of the free space of 7.63m battery.The temperature of innovated free space can be stabilized below 850℃ so that the coal categories for large-capacity battery cokemaking can be diversified,by-products production and quality can be improved and the operation of methanol-making from COG remains stable.
This paper introduces current tar adding process and existing problems.New tar adding process with the advantage of simple process,less land occupation,convenient maintenance,and less investment has been developed and used for over 3 years.Totally 8 760t tar has been added.The economic benefit of this process equals to 12 264 000 Yuan if converted to coking coal.
Based on the quality characteristic of Indonesia coal,the oxidizing deterioration rule in different environments is studied.A reasonable service life of Indonesia coal is concluded.Anti-deterioration measures are provided and applied in practical operation.This is a profitable research and practice for expanding coking resources.

Coke oven machinery positioning and interlock is an important technology for safe operation of coke pushing as described in this paper that the interlock and automatic traveling of coke oven machines can be controlled by using the technologies of coding cable positioning and spread spectrum communication.The full automation of the coke oven machinery can also be available by adopting the existing automatic control unit.
Proximate analysis,vitrinite reflectance analysis and coking analysis of meager lean coal,and its coal blending coking experiment and application on 20kg coke oven battery show that qualified coke can be produced with appropriate blending ratio of meager lean coal.
The inner wall of the ring duct broke and collapsed in the CDQ of Xuan steel coking plant.Analysis shows that the main reasons for the collapsing of inner wall are that the brick itself has defect,strength of fire resistant mortar decreases,and temperature and pressure in the duct are not stable for a long term.To prevent overall collapsing of the inner wall,the broken places have been repaired in time.At serious crowning places concrete supports were cast.On the whole,the CDQ is in good running state after repairing.
This paper studies the process conditions for preparing briquetted active carbon by non-caking coal and gas coal,and discusses the absorption property of active carbon.Experimental result shows the optimum process conditions are: coking temperature 550℃,constant temperature time for coking 30min,activating temperature 900℃,activating time 4h.The iodine adsorptive value of briquetted active carbon is up to 1 041mg/g,and methylene blue adsorptive value up to 190mg/g.These two values meet the requirement of industrial production.
This paper introduces the places which are vulnerable to form coke during gas phase crude benzol hydrogenation under low temperature.Coke jam condition can be evaluated from process parameters.This paper also analyzes the reason for coke forming,and provides treatment measures.The progress of coking can be greatly moderated by adding pretreatment device and polymerization inhibitor and strengthen production management.
Four factors affecting the sedimentation performance of coal pitch are respectively analyzed in this paper with coal pitch as feedstock and with aromatics and aliphatic hydrocarbon as extractant by process of solvent extraction-standing sedimentation so that the sedimentation behavior of coal pitch can be evaluated quickly and accurately.The result shows the appropriate working conditions as aromatic lipid ratio 1∶0.6,solvent to feed ratio 1∶1,treatment temperature 130℃ and sedimentation time 4 hours,which is characterized with convenience,being quick,rationality and low investment.
Compared the simulating result with product index,it is verified that the process of crude benzole negative pressure distillation by tube furnace is feasible.This essay studies the aspects of heating schedule,energy structure and environment effect.The result shows that crude benzole negative pressure distillation process is easy to operate,optimizes energy structure,and reduces discharging of waste water.

Granular packing and structured packing are introduced in this paper and technical data of the gas-liquid redistributor is analyzed,such as design requirement,spray density,calculation,structure,etc.The overflow type redistributors are turned out to be more adaptable,esp.for high flow rate operation.
The paper describes the collection of off-gas pollutants by ECS system from gas purification plant to gas scrubbing system for absorption treatment, including the innovation of reliability of the ECS system. It also introduces the process flow regulating principle and control philosophy of the ECS which comes up with a solution to the pollutant in gas purification process so that energy-saving and emission-reduction can remarkably be achieved.
This paper introduces the characteristics of stamp-charging coking technology,and describes briefly the development and technical improvement of stamp-charging coking technology in China.It points out the main problems existed in the present application in China,improvement measures and development direction.It is estimated that coke production capacity will be reduced to 360 million tons by 2025 in China,by which stamp-charging coke production will be about half of the total coke production.

This paper introduces the application on advanced technology of heat conduction,such as by using heat transfer oil,heat pipe,heat pump and surface evaporation type air cooling,etc.,which can improve energy utilization efficiency,reduce total energy consumption in the coking industry.The expediting popularization of the advanced technology of heat conduction plays an effective role in the energy saving and emission reduction in the coking industry of China.
This paper analyzed the mathematical statistics attribute of the coal vitrinite reflectance index and existing vitrinite deviations for judging coal rank and disadvantage of coal kinds,showing the advantages and disadvantages of various determination methods and expression index,with description of impact on the determination result by identifying vitrinite.The system errors among different determination methods not affecting the application of reflectance distribution has also been demonstrated.
This paper analyzed the behaviors of some overseas coking coal and described coal blending experiences in actual production,which is discovered with features of lower ash,low sulfur and individual coal kind and that some coal kind can be compared to the high quality coking coal in China.Furthermore the rational utilization of overseas coking coal in blending can dramatically cut the cost of coke due to rich coking coal resources and its market sensitivity.
Coal blending process and proportioning are determined by means of an experiment on coal blending with modified pitch through 40kg test oven owing to a sound caking property and low ash of the pitch before the coke oven test is done.As a result,the modified pitch is successfully utilized for the uninterrupted production of JN60 coke oven battery.The utilization of coal blending with modified pitch is beneficial to improvement of coke quality,expansion of the range of use and reduction of coke production cost.
Problems and causes during operation of CDQ system are described in this paper for large-capacity stamp-charge battery.Solutions are also given by properly increasing the diameter of CDQ chamber and the bottom area of primary deduster,by using high-efficiency secondary deduster and by improving the abrasion-resistance of CDQ blower for stable and uninterrupted production of the CDQ system.
This paper described the classification for each individual coal and coal behavior test,as basis for commercial test of coal blending.It also provided the concept of the test as well as the method.The commercial test method of coal blending is applied as coal blending ratio reference for cutting coal blending cost,optimizing coal blending structure,improving coke quality and satisfying the demand to the maximum extent for blast furnace production.
This paper described the application of stamp-charge battery coke in 450m3 blast furnace production and analyzed the experiments in 2 650m3 blast furnace respectively with similar quality of coke produced from top-charge battery and stamp-charge battery.The result shows that the associated CDQ system for the stamp-charge battery can effectively reduce coke moisture and improve coke quality,which greatly benefits the BF production.
A ceramic welding technology is introduced in this paper for repairing the damaged carbonization wall surface,including the welding equipment,repairing compound properties,preparation,operation procedures and the hot work control etc..The case shows that the welded wall surface appears flat and smooth,with improved oven proper conditions,such as better compound binding performance, less pushing resistance,lower pushing current and uniform distribution of graphite on oven wall.
This paper described a new type compound inorganic castable as monolith-cast oven door lining replacing the conventional bricklaying,which shows that the temperature of external surface of the oven door drops by 45~50℃,with slight temperature rise at oven end and with remarkable advantages such as increasing coke oven capacity and thermal efficiency,easy for erection and maintenance as well as improving operating condition,etc..
The paper presents the function of pusher & coke side operating benches and explains that cross-range expansion of the coke oven proper has an effect on stability of the operating benches.Comparing with three types of operating benches,selection proposal shall be provided for the operating benches of JNX70 coke oven and for other types of coke ovens for reference.
This paper described strain test on the RCC of main load bearing members of new coke oven battery for Phase IV of Angang.The test has been done at the stage of completion of battery proper structure construction, heating-up and after putting into production.The concept and its details of the structural test have also been given in this paper,which provides solid basis for an optimized structural design of the battery.
Sulfide is one of the common pollutants produced in coal chemical plants.There are several treatment methods,in which catalytic oxidation method is more often adopted for its low cost and good efficiency.However,this method has the disadvantages of slow reaction and escaping of hydrogen sulfide.First,select PT-OC01 catalyst as the best catalyst from three kinds of heterogeneous catalysts.Then conduct orthogonal experiment by taking the removing rate of sulfide and escaping rate of hydrogen sulfide as indexes to find out the best process conditions.The experiment shows that sulfur removing rate can reach 87.3%,and hydrogen sulfide escaping rate is 0.25% only.
The upgrading of waste water treatment process is described in this paper,aiming at the pretreatment system and bio-treatment system,i.e.the A-A/O process is replaced with A/O so that the waste water treatment can conform to national standard Gr.I.The advantages and disadvantages of the two processes as well as the impact factors during production are also analyzed.

This paper introduces the determination for desulfurized liquor discharge volume with SCN- balance according to the HPF reaction mechanism and actual production,with optimized results,such as ammonium thiosulfate around 60~80g/L,ammonium thiocyanate around 120~140g/L and that the volume of the discharged desulfurized liquor can be controlled at 30~35m3/day.
The new final cooling process integrates gas cooling,naphthalene removal and reuse of condensate,so that gas can be cooled down step by step in gas purification plant.Taking the condensate from the upper stage of final cooler as the soft water used in ammonia stripping unit,coal water quantity in the coke oven gas purification plant can be reduced.Wash oil is used in the final cooler to remove naphthalene in gas.The naphthalene-containing wash oil is sent to benzol scrubbing unit for regeneration after heated and separated from water.
This paper introduces a new ammonia stripping process with heat transfer oil, a method of energy-saving,low pollution and consumption-reduction,replacing the conventional steam stripping process that gave rise to NH3 content fluctuation in the distilled water caused by tar jamming at raw tubes of reboiler,tray leakage and low efficiency, etc..Measures have been taken for stable operation of the heat transfer oil system which achieved good performance.

This paper introduces crude benzol vacuum distillation process,i.e.the feedstock directly enters the crude benzol column with high efficiency blockage-free trays,sharing one tubular furnace together with regenerator,which can be in flexible and reliable operation.Compared with direct atmospheric steam distillation,this process has advantages of energy-saving,environmental protection and stable operation.
This paper described a new pre-separation process for tar residue from ammonia liquor by combination of the tar residue pre-separator and mechanical ammonia liquor decanter,which shows more features, such as lower cost for the process equipment,higher separation efficiency,better operating condition and less labor intensity,as a solution to the problems of 7.63m battery at present.
Each reverse osmosis device can generate 60t/h demineralized water,but it needs to discharge 20t/h concentrated brine. In order to reduce discharge quantity of waste water,the equipment is modified,so that half of the concentrated brine can return to the feeding water of the reverse osmosis device.With this improved reverse osmosis process,the plant is running stably,the discharged water meets national standard,and 20t/h ground water can be saved.It’s an energy-saving and emission-reduction,environmental friendly and efficient process.
This paper described coal blending with coking coal,1/3 coking coal,fat coal,lean coal and long-flame coal,with bulk density of 0.7g/cm3 and 1.0g/cm3 and analyzed the impact to coke behavior under different bulk densities and different adding amount of low rank coal by using 2kg testing coke oven for analysis of cold strength and thermal property of coke.The results show that the cold strength and thermal performance of coke get worse after blended with low\|rank coal,and it changes less when blended with low\|rank coal less than 5%,but it can be improved by increasing the bulk density of blended coal.
To explore a comprehensive,clean and integrated utilization of lignite,the theory of lignite liquefaction and influencing factors are analyzed,and the staged conversion technology of lignite that part of lignite is liquefied and the residual char is gasified combining with the wet gasification is proposed.The result shows that the lignite is very active in hydrogenation liquefaction.By combining the technology of gasification and liquefaction,lignite can be utilized efficiently.
This paper describes the production process of coal-based needle coke,taking coal tar as the raw material.After three years trial production,the product quality has reached advanced level in China,and is equivalent to the needle coke imported from Japan.Home-made needle coke has good market prospect.
This paper analyzes the quality and coking property of 1/2 medium caking coal.By conducting 40kg pilot plant test and industrial coking test,it shows that with the increase of fat coal up to 15%,the coke quality can meet the requirement of blast furnace,and the coking cost is significantly reduced.
With a case of 400t/d CMC capacity,two CMC technologies with heating source of steam and that of waste COG have been analyzed in this paper,in terms of feasibility study,dew point of waste gas at outlet,energy utilization efficiency and safe operation.The results show that the CMC technology with heating source of waste COG or the waste COG mixed with a certain amount of MPG (methanol purge gas) is proved feasible.
Due to the problems in the coal tower structure of 5.5m stamp-charging battery in design and construction,it gives rise to abnormalities,such as vertical cracks at brackets overhanging from the deep beam,vibration feeders resonation and imbalanced bracing systems of scaffold,etc..This paper analyzes the causes of the problems and gives solutions such as mending bracket’s crack,adding shear wall and improving the bracing systems of scaffold,etc.for treatment of the structural defects.
Considering the advantage and disadvantage of previous gas mixer,a new type gas mixer is developed.It has the advantage of uniform mixing,convenient and safe operation,and it will not be blocked easily,which has positive effect to reduce energy consumption and production cost.This mixing device has been used in many coke oven batteries,and all are in good running condition.
A process for foundry coke production with 550mm\|wide stamp-charge battery has been introduced in this paper.It is found that this type of coke oven battery can be able to produce high\|quality foundry coke by 40kg small oven testing and analysis of single oven production.
In view of the short service life of mullite-SiC brick used in CDQ connecting duct,β-SiC brick is developed with service life up to 6 years.Theoretically,with the β-SiC brick,energy can be saved by about 5.5%,in continuous 6-year operation for 1×140t/h CDQ system,energy consumption can be saved by about 15 300 tons in standard coal,by about 172 000 tons in water and by about 30.64 tons in coke breeze,and atmospheric pollutant can be reduced by 25.7 tons approximately.
Siemens PCS7 system in gas reversing machine for coke oven has been introduced in this paper,which realizes integration of data acquisition and control for central control room,with features of stable in operation,low cost in configuration and centralized monitor & control.This application plays an active role in showing an example for monitor & control of such similar individual equipment.
In view of the characteristics of coke oven heating process,such as large inertia,long\|time delay and time variation,CMAC (Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller)-PID integrated control mode is proposed in this paper,which has been used in coke oven heating and undergone simulation test.The test result proves that this solution has higher robustness and adjustable property for automation system and can improve static & dynamic performance of the system.
Further to the description for process principle of pusher machine,this paper analyzed hardware configuration of auto\|position system (APS) for pusher machine and introduced working principle of primary positioning and accurate positioning of the system,including a further research on the speed control for auto\|positioning and oven number identification calculation.This application shows that the APS can realize pusher machine positioning quickly and accurately,with tolerance within ±5mm.
The gascollecting main pressure is an important parameter for battery production.There were the problems of large fluctuation of pressure in the gas collecting main and yellow smoke leakage on the battery before.By the use of continuous change fuzzy control technology,the pressure in the gas collecting main can be maintained stable,and pressure fluctuation can be controlled within ±20Pa of the setting pressure.
This paper introduces the heterotrophic nitrifier strain Y1 separated from activated sludge,with optimized nitrifying conditions of C/N 9.6,temperature 30℃,initial pH value 9.0 and shaking speed 250rpm,under which the 152.88mg/L NH+4-N get degraded to 4.02mg/L in 8 hours,without accumulation of intermediate products,such as nitrite and nitrate. It is also found that the bacterial strain Y1 acts as heterotrophic nitrification,but also have the ability to use NO-3-N as sole nitrogen source in aerobic conditions for denitrification,with rate of 99.05% as degradation within 40 hours for initial concentration of 196mg/L NO-3-N.
Industrial naphthalene contains impurities of benzothienyl,phenols,quinolines and other unsaturated compound which has bad influences on the further application of naphthalene.The boiling points of naphthalene and main impurity benzothiophene are too close to separate each other directly by distillation.Using hydrogen peroxide as oxidant,formic acid as catalyst,oxidation method can be effectively used for the removing of benzothiophene from industrial naphthalene.Industrial naphthalene; Benzothiophene; Refined naphthalene; Hydrocarbonylation
This paper introduces the technology for deaminization and ammonia liquor production with phosphoric acid from COG.This new process has a higher deaminization efficiency to meet the COG quality requirement and cut cost for bought\|out sulfuric acid,which is characterized with lower corrosion,less maintenance cost and lower labor intensity compared with conventional saturator process for ammonia sulfate production.
Technology and equipment have been upgraded according to the problems found in operation of benzol scrubbing and benzol stripping.The innovated technology has achieved advantages,such as remarkable reduction of energy consumption for light benzene,significant decrease of benzol content in purified gas after the benzol scrubber,higher light benzene yield and considerable economic benefit.
The Coking Plant of Liuzhou Iron & Steel Co.Ltd.introduced vacuum benzol stripping process in order to solve the problems such as high steam consumption and large amount of stripped water generated,etc..As a result,the distillation temperature can be effectively lowered by reducing the operating pressure and energy can be saved and effluent can be reduced by utilizing hot lean oil instead of steam.The system under negative pressure is now running stable after commissioning and process improvement,showing more environmental benefits compared with the conventional benzol stripping process under normal pressure.
This paper described main sources of pollutants,i.e.waste gas,waste water and industrial residue, also known as “three wastes” in coal tar refinery,including main treatment measures,processes and new solutions in recent years in China in the hope of providing reference for the control against pollutants from tar refinery industry of China.
The causes decreasing crude phenol production and recovery have been found,such as big fluctuation of scrubbing operation,low separation efficiency of decomposer column and high phenol content in tail gas,etc.by analyzing crude phenol production and CO2 decomposition.Solutions are given for improvement,such as improving scrubbing operation,adjusting decomposer column process,improving tail gas precipitation and increasing spent lye extraction,etc.,so that the crude phenol production and recovery can be upgraded.
Quinoline insoluble (QI) is an important value for quality control of coal tar.The refined coal tar pitch for needle coke is required with QI<0.1%,however the allowable error in the existing GB/T 2293—2008 is less than 0.8%,obviously not suitable for needle coke.According to the solubility of compound and the diversity of testing solvent,aqueous solution can be used in replacement of acetone solution during the analysis of refined coal tar pitch,which makes the QI measurement more accurate.
This paper introduces the advantages,mid\|testing result and industrial equipment utilization of integration of CMC and air classification in manner of total\|boiling and vibrating push\|in,with waste gas flue as hot carrier. It also proposes process appraisal system,analysis of the impact and solution of CMC to coke oven production and gas purification process as well as technical support for the CMC promotion.
In this paper,the impact to coke properties by adding boron homologues to blending coals is studied. The result shows that the caking of blended coal and cold strength of coke would get worse as BO、BA and BX are added and the coke thermal properties would also appear degradation trend with adding amount increased. It also indicates that TD added to the blended coal would not impact the coal caking and cold strength of coke but can obviously improve the thermal properties of coke. Coke optical texture test shows that TD can promote the development of coke anisotropy. Furthermore the XRD analysis shows that TD can upgrade the graphitization of coke.
Influencing factors to heat consumption during coke making and reducing measures
This paper analyzes the influence of factors such as central temperature of coke cake,gas space temperature,charge moisture,excess air coefficient and waste gas temperature to heat consumption during coke making.Measures to reduce heat consumption and to improve heating efficiency of the battery are proposed.
Factors affecting coal blending precision in large coal silo
The application of large coal silo for coking plant of Zhangjiagang Hongfa Group Co.Ltd.has been introduced in this paper where reasons of coal blending error are found,i.e.coal silo bridging,belt scale failure and coal sticking to the belt and the causes to bridging and relevant solution are also given.
For higher charging volume of individual oven for JN60-6 battery,this paper provides measures,such as adjusting fineness of blended coal,stabilizing moisture of the blending coal and optimizing charging & leveling,etc.so that the individual oven charging volume can be increased,oven top space temperature can be reduced,tar & crude benzol capacity can be improved and higher economic benefit can be obtained.
Several calibrations for common coke loss of ignition (LOI) are described in this paper.A new calibration is proposed which can be used for statistics at any time without measurement of carbon discharge amount, with precision up to the requirement of production.A proposal of LOI control is also put forwarded.
In this paper, design data,process flow and operation experience in China etc.are analyzed that performance guarantees of a coking plant for a steel company abroad can be achievable,such as production capacity,coke fine rate,coke quality,equipment operation rate,water consumption per ton of coke production,impurities content in purified gas,treated water quality,automation system operation rate and electrical system operation rate,etc..
Regarding to the problems of modified dedusting system such as oven wall damage,pipe leakage,high resistance in the dust catcher,this paper analyzes the reason to those problems considering the process principle and equipment condition of de-dusting system.The problems are well solved by changing process parameters of coal preparation,replacing refractories and increasing the pressure of compressed air in the dedusting system,so that normal operation of the dedusting system is ensured.
According to the fact that some problems are found in the protection system of scraper conveyor for coke oven dedusting system,this paper proposes an improvement by canceling the intermediate relay or by using three-wire proximity switch,which is characterized with low cost,less failure and reliable wiring so that reliability and stability of the dedusting system can be remarkably improved.
This paper analyzed adjustment for replacement gas and oven temperature for an optimal solution due to multi-time gas replacement for coke oven battery each year due to blast furnace maintenance so that time consumption for gas replacement can be reduced to two hours and that for oven temperature adjustment can be cut to five days.

The tubular belt conveyor is described in this paper in aspects of structure,working principle and technical data; analysis and decisions are also made for the belt route,driving unit arrangement and speed control mode so that feeding requirement of the blast furnace can be met,pollution can be reduced and operational cost can be cut down.
In view of the problems in belt scales with low precision and poor stability,this paper introduces an advanced array type belt scale for trade based on the cooperation between Jingjiang Zhongda Coke Products Co.Ltd.and Nanjing San’ai Co.Ltd.,as a solution to the low precision in measurement,which is characterized with high precision and good durability.
In this paper,the features of coke oven proper is analyzed during oven temperature holding and the management,precautions and solutions are also described during the temperature holding in terms of oven temperature,bracing system and hot repair,etc.together with the feasibility of the oven temperature holding when no coal being charged.
This paper summarized the defects of waste heat recovery unit from coke oven waste gas flue at the initial stage after commissioning and proposed some measures such as by increasing holes and cross section of pipes to reduce system resistance,by using VVVF to increase suction of common waste gas flue and by adding additional motorized flap valve to cut off waste gas circulation,etc.so that the waste gas heat recovery unit can reach up to designed target.
In view of big impact of coal moisture to coal cake shaping for stamp charge battery, automation system of water-adding for coal moisture control is developed.This paper introduced the principle,process flow and main equipment of the system,suitable for lump raw material production, which obtained a perfect integration of on-line monitoring and automatic control, a solution to the instability of manual operation,a stable moisture of coal to be charged and good coal cake shaping.
As the Elizabethkingia sp.strain W8 isolated by our lab for the dominate bacteria of our further research,the degradation kinetics and biodegradation pathway were studied.The result shows that the optimal temperature,initial pH value and salt concentration for W8 is 35℃,pH 7.0 and 0.5% respectively.When the initial concentration of DBP was between 50 and 400mg/L,thestrain on the degradation of DBP is tested in line with the Gr.1 Monod kinetics model.The FT-IR analysis demonstrates that the degradation of DBP most likely follows the pathway: DBP→MBP→PA.
This paper analyzed the disadvantages of conventional ammonia stripping process by steam and described the improvement of ammonia stripping by heat transfer oil,by tubular furnace and by negative pressure from waste flue gas heat.The technologies of heat pipe,coke oven waste flue gas and coal water heat exchanger are successfully unitized for 800 000t/a coke production system,by which the waste water treatment cost can be reduced by 40%,stilled water amount can be reduced by 25%,the quality of treated water can be improved so that it’s beneficial to the waste water reutilization and zero discharge of waste water.
This paper presented further processing for naphthalene oil in China and abroad,summarized rectification method,crystallization method,hydrogenation method and separation technologies,such as liquid membrane separation,supercritical fluid extraction,etc.to be used for naphthalene oil separation.It also proposed a combination of conventional process and the advanced separation technology based on the related analogues formed by the naphthalene and other components in the naphthalene oil in the hope of improving naphthalene oil separation and process conditions with preconditions of optimized process,simplified production and energy-saving & pollution reduction.
This paper outlined the behaviors of medium and low temperature coal tar,its hydrogenated oil products and the four main coal tar hydrogenation processes in recent years.It also analyzed the economic benefit for a project of 1M t/a coal tar hydrogenation.The result shows a good economic benefit,i.e.the net profit is 103 917 000 yuan per year and the payback period after tax is 5.4 years.
Waste water from cokemaking, after bio-treatment, deep treatment and reuse of reclaimed water,can be recycled as makeup water of circulation for new water saving and utilization of waste water zero discharge and reclaimed water reuse,which achieves economic benefit and social benefit.
In view of high energy consumption of the gas exhauster running at working frequency,this paper described an innovation of frequency converter for gas exhauster.The modified gas exhauster can be in stable operation,which realizes energy saving by controlling the exhauster speed according to different loads.
This paper described that cast iron bubble plate column for the existing AS ammonia stripping process has been modified,plus a high efficiency re-boiler for indirect ammonia stripping,which is characterized with rational process,simple operation,easy maintenance,long service life and energy saving,etc..
This paper introduces the configuration and philosophy of constant pressure system via VVVF,i.e.a frequency converter is used for fuel gas delivery which can alleviate the equipment noises and labor intensity,lower the current and mechanical impact when the equipment starts/stops,extend equipment service life,ensure emergency supply of natural gas and achieve remarkable performance of energy-saving.
The new national standard “Emission standard of pollutants for coking chemical industry” regulates the requirement for control of NOx emission from chimney of coke oven battery.The technical measures on design of heating system of coke oven battery and treatment of oven flue gas after it is discharged from the battery for control of NOx emission are expounded in this paper.The author also makes brief description of technology on denitrification of flue gas by using SCR process and suggests that in order to meet the requirement of the national standard for control of NOx emission from chimney of coke oven battery located in the “special region”, flue gas discharged from the coke oven battery should be further treated by using SCR denitrification technology with learning experience of Tokyo Gas gained from test of pilot plant and engineering.
The modification effect of gas-fat coal and fat coal was studies through common coking test mixed with these two kinds of coals and other single coals.The test result shows that the modification effect of fat coal is better than that of gas-fat coal.Based on the test,stamp charging experimentation with gas-fat coal instead of partial fat coal was carried out,which indicated that on the premise thatcaking property of blending coal is stable,as increasing amount of replacing gas-fat coal,coke strength after reaction first increased and then decreased,but the change of coke reactivity index was in the opposite way,and the coke strength in cold condition changed little.
This article analyzes the current application situation of coke oven flue gas as a heat resource of coal moisture control process(CMC) in China, focusing on its process and equipment by using of coke oven flue gas as a heat resource. Waste heat in coking plant is fully utilized.CMC has the advantages of simple process, less investment,flexible operation,lower running cost,conservation of energy and environmental protection.
Partial gas-fat coal,gas coal and 1/3 coking coal are replaced by mid-temperature respectively for cokemaking in laboratory.The result shows that the quality of coke is not largely affected if the proportion of mid-temperature is controlled within 3%,besides,mixing with low-priced anthracite with low ash and low sulfur can effectively control the cost of coal blending.
Mixing 40%~50% anthracite with blended coal,the formcoke reactivity index (CRI) is high while its strength after reaction (CSR) is low.After blending coal fines modifier (ZBS),thermal characteristics of formcoke were proved,which shows that ZBS modified anthracite.When mass fraction of ZBS reached 1‰,the mass of coke improved most,in which CRI decreased to 10.65% and CSR increased to 13.52%.
For requirement of high capacity blast furnace production, high quality of coke is required.To this end, by means of ingredient analysis,coal blending optimization,increase of local-produced prime coking coal consumption as well as development of non-coking coal resources,the coke quality can be stabilized,coal blending cost can be lowered and full utilization of the resources can be realized.
Configuration and control of bracing system for the first 6.25m stamp charging coke oven in China is introduced. After analyzing the stress and tonnage configuration of buckstay,the tonnage distribution for springs is renewedly optimized during heating-up and operating. Curvature of buckstay,clearance control between flash plate and buckstay are also elaborated.
The effect of CDQ process on qualities of stamp-charged coke and top-charged coke is analyzed by testing the coke’s M40,M10,CRI,CSR,pore structure and optical texture.The testing result shows that stamp-charging coke oven matched with CDQ process can improve the quality of coke as well as the proportion of weakly caking coal so as to save high quality coking coal.

In view of the affect of using rich gas and lean gas heating to the production process, this paper proposed a solution of additional heating with twin flue for improving oven end temperature which would improve uniformity coefficient of oven end temperature, ensure uniformity of the entire oven, guarantee mature carbonization of the coke at oven end and that of the entire oven as well as prolong the service life of the battery.
According to the damage of CDQ connecting duct in China and the features of CDQ bricklaying in Phase Ⅳ of coking project for Baosteel, new technologies have been put forward, such as three-segment expansion joint, silicon nitride and silicon carbide bonded brick, precise-position at center of connecting duct as well as accurate elevation and inner diameter so that the CDQ connecting duct bricks can be laid in good quality and the service life of the CDQ chamber can be extended.

Solubilities of anthracene in DMF,benzene,toluene,benzene-DMF,toluene-DMF and water-DMF were determined at 303.45 to 353.55K by equilibrium method. These solubilities were correlated by empirical equation,ideal solution equation and λ-h equation,which provides important phase equilibrium data for development of refined naphthalene preparation by use of new solvent extraction crystallization process.
This article analyzes current situations of applications for coke oven gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) respectively,and summarizes their technical features at home and abroad.A process of LNG made from coke oven gas by ACRE is introduced,indicating that the technical core is not methanation, but the process of deep purification.
The corrosion at different temperature and medium of pre-evaporator in crude benzene hydro-refining process is studied in this paper and protective measures are taken accordingly in design,such as material selection and proper operation,etc.,which could minimize the corrosion in the pre-evaporator and maximize the service life of the equipment.
The corrosion mechanism in process of coal tar refinery is studied in this paper and the corrosion is analyzed which should be paid highly attention to during production. A practical solution is therefore proposed against corrosion during the coal tar refinery in aspects of feedstock pre-treatment,process innovation and equipment upgrading,etc.
The impact of different particle sizes,speed and rotator position to the flow line of tar cutting pump and solid particle distribution are analyzed in this paper.The result of the numerical simulation shows that low flow would cause serious vortex flow and little impact to the solid-phase concentration distribution and that the bigger the particle sizes and concentration,the higher the concentration of solid-phase of the rotator working medium,and the more serious wearing and erosion to the rotator surface.It also suggests that the increased speed may improve pulverizing efficiency and may undermine the life expectancy of the equipment.
Oxygen analyzer LGA-4130 is used for on-line measurement of oxygen content in gas after electro-static tar precipitator (ETP) and for interlock shutdown of the ETP in case of reaching the HH limit of the oxygen value preset on DCS aiming at a safe and stable running of the ETP.The advantages and disadvantages of this analyzing system are studied in this paper,suggestions for improvement are also given.
High content of tar in coal water effects normal operations of ammonia distillation system and waste water treatment system.After microporous ceramic filter is introduced,some shortcomings of coal tar remover are proved through process optimization and equipment improvement to reduce the content of tar in coal water and ensure normal operation.
Corroded gas valves and pipes, affected output of ammonium sulfate as well as threatened security in operation all result in acid exist in gas after saturator, and current fluctuated in circulating pump. After removing acid from gas and stabilizing the current, the operating cycle of equipment is prolonged and the loss of spare parts is reduced.
Characters of coking wastewater and the running condition of AAOO-Fenton oxidation process in Jinan Iron and Steel Coking Plant are indicated. After handled by AAOO process, the wastewater from ammonia distillation plant is coagulating settled and is further treated by Fenton oxidation. The quality of treated water meets the second level of national wastewater discharge standard.
Waste plastic is treated by conventional coking process,mixing into blending coal to produce metallurgical coke and high strength porous coke.When 4% waste plastic is blended,the quality of the coke which carbonized in common is same as that of the coke which carbonized by blending coal.10%~18% waste plastic is blended to produce I type porous coke with more than 70% drum strength and 50% reactivity.
domestic tar-hydrogenation technology as well as the nature of tar self-produced by Jiu Steel Group,researches on the process routing,conditions,among other types of catalysts are studied and feasibility on the process of fuel oil made by Jiu Steel tar hydrogenation is analyzed.
To improve the yield rate of tar during coal pyrolysis,the pyrolysis process and principle of long flame coal with different grain size under different final pyrolysis temperature and heating up rate are studied by non-isothermal thermogravimetric method.The pyrolysis characteristic of long flame is analyzed at the heating rate of 20 and 100℃/min,and the pyrolysis kinetic parameters are worked out.The result shows that when the coal particle is smaller than 2.8mm,grain size of coal has little effect to the pyrolysis process; the volatile matter yield rate in the final solid product decreases while final pyrolysis temperature increases; and the separating out rate of volatile matter increases with heating rate.At the same heating rate,the relationship between activation energy and pyrolysis temperature can be expressed by a curve which increases firstly and then decreases.The pre-exponetial factor increases with activation energy.
