Facing the problems in operation of medium and large-size blast furnaces using stamp-charge battery coke instead of top-charge battery coke,this paper expounds the research progress on the properties of SC-battery coke at home and abroad in aspects of macroscopic quality,microstructure and high temperature gasification reaction performance,and demonstrates the quality difference between SC-battery coke and TC-battery coke.As a result,the cognition to the characteristics of the SC-battery coke can be improved and the technology of medium and large-size BF using SC-battery coke can be further upgraded.

Analysis was made to the cold & hot strength and optical texture of the coke produced from 40 kg pilot oven of Lianyuan Iron & Steel based on commonly used coking coal and blending scheme.The test result indicates that as the degree of coal metamorphism goes further,the anisotropic texture increases first and then decreases,the coke from medium-grade metamorphism coal shows the highest anisotropic degree.Fiber texture and leaflet texture gradually increase with the coal metamorphism.Inert texture decreases first and then increases with the coal metamorphism; the medium-grade metamorphism coal has the lowest content of inert texture.As the proportion of the mosaic texture increases,the cold and hot strength of coke are getting better; with the proportion of coke inert texture increasing,the cold and hot strength of the coke will go worse.In order to ensure coke quality,the proportion of inert texture in coke should be controlled within an appropriate range in production.

Based on the principle of stabilizing coke size,this paper studies the coking process and coke size of 7.63 m coke oven in Shougang Jingtang company,analyzes the factors affecting the coke grain size,such as coal blending quality,carbonization time,quenching process,coke transfer and coke screening.By optimizing coke transferring,the material level of coke bin is controlled at least 3 m;special attention is paid to the moisture stability in coal blending,within the range of ±0.3%,in particular to the effective management of screening process to improve the stability of coke grain size.

The American Buchanan coking coal has advantage of low content in ash and sulfur,which can partially replace BHP coking coal and domestic coal and help reduce coal blending cost.However,its MBI and MCI are on the high side,this blending must be adjusted according to actual blending composition and resources condition.Based on the experience,the ratio of Buchanan coking coal to be blended is supposed to be 5%~7%,it would be beneficial to improving coke quality in an economical coal blending manner.Due to diversified coal blending structure with various kinds of coke quality in cokemaking,the optimum option shall be gradually defined according to actual situation.

By comparison with slot type coke oven,the heat recovery coke oven is characterized with no producing “three wastes”(wastewater,waste gases and residues) and maximized using anthracite in coal blending.The steel complex,by using heat recovery coke oven,can not only minimize pollution,but also produce required quality coke for ironmaking,including high temperature steam for power generation,which could increase the proportion of self-generated electricity in enterprises for a considerable economic benefits.

The sulfur content in coke plays an important role in measuring the quality of coke.At present,the automatic sulfur meter is commonly used to measure the sulfur content of coke.The measurement indicates that the sulfur in quenched water stays mainly in the form of sulfate ions,and the SO2-4 has an influence on the sulfur content in coke,i.e.showing a positive relation with the sulfur content in coke.

The model of AS desulfurization process is established with Aspen Plus.Simulation is done by adopting Box-Behnken method to test the absorption effect of the AS desulfurization column.The correlation between H2S content at gas outlet and process parameter is analyzed.The process parameters are also optimized.After the optimization,the H2S concentration at the gas outlet can meet the requirement of production,which demonstrates that the model is accurate and the optimization is viable.

This paper analyzed the source of fluoride in wastewater in Shaoguan Iron & Steel and discussed its treatment solutions.Source treatment or end treatment could be applied to reduce fluoride from wastewater.The source treatment focuses on minimizing fluorine-containing raw materials or optimizing the process flow.The end treatment can reduce fluoride from 200 mg/L to about 10mg/L, and the removal rate is about 95%,by methods of precipitation,adsorption, and ion exchange etc..
