Method 80 patients with inguinal hernia admitted to the First People's Hospital of Guannan County, Lianyungang City from May 2021 to May 2022 were randomly divided into two groups by digital table method. The control group (n=40) adopted open tension-free inguinal hernia repair. The study group (n=40) adopted laparoscopic hernia repair. The operation and postoperative related indicators, quality of life scores, pain and sleep scores, and complications of the two groups were compared. Result The operation time of the patients in the study group was longer than that in the control group, the time of getting out of bed and hospitalization were shorter after operation, and the amount of intraoperative bleeding

was less than that in the control group, with significant difference (P < 0.05); The pain score, sleep quality score and complication rate in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
