This paper introduces the application of improving the coke M40 acceptability rate in Shasteel 7.63 m coke oven.Through establishing the contribution rate of individual kind of coal to coke M40,optimizing coal blending by using vitrinite reflectance and Gieseler fluidity,plus cokemaking process like CDQ,thus the M40 compliance rate can be steadily improved.The high-quality metallurgical coke can be used for 5,800  m3 blast furnace,which ensures the smooth operation of the blast furnace.

This paper shows a successful case that low-sulfur fat coal from Russia instead of domestic high-sulfur fat coal,blended with high-sulfur prime coking coal achieved satisfactory result of coal blending,with stable coke quality and lower cost in coal blending.Through 40 kg pilot oven test,ash composition analysis and microscopic analysis etc.,the properties and application of the low-sulfur fat coal from Russia were analyzed.When the volatile ratio in the fat coal from Russia exceeds 33%,and the blending ratio of that is less than 5%,there would be no obvious influence on mechanical strength and CRI/CSR;when the blending ratio of the fat coal exceeds 7%,CSR deteriorated significantly.

During annual maintenance for CDQ system in Anyang Iron & Steel,the coke moisture stays high and fluctuates.In view of the factors influencing the coke moisture,measures were taken such as to standardize coke receiving by quenching car,to control dewatering time and coke discharging on the coke wharf,to optimize quenching time for high and low water volume,as well as to minimize the quenching water volume to maintain the coke moisture around 8% on the premise of no red hot coke so as to ensure stable operation of blast furnace.

The main influencing factors of metallurgical coke rate were determined as blended coal ash,coke M10,coking time and blended coal sulfur,and the regression equation was obtained by regression analysis so that quantitative algorithm for metallurgical coke rate can be realized.However,due to unstable factors in cokemaking operation and a certain deviation in statistics,it results in not fully reliable regression equation.Coke plant can use the idea of this paper for reference to quantify the algorithm before the regression analysis according to its own situation.

In this paper,a study is conducted for simulation of ammonia spray structure in two-stage absorber for DeSOx and DeNOx of waste flue gas by active carbon process.Based on the results from pilot tests and by adopting CFD simulation,a new streamline technology is studied,i.e.a big range of flow rate-concentration waste flue gas is uniformly mixed with air-NH4 mass fraction and evenly distributed by regulating mixed fraction supply and optimizing ammonia nozzle arrangement so as to improve the uniformity of ammonia distribution above the nozzles.

Ammonia stripping parameters optimized by Aspen Plus are introduced.The second absorption type hot pump is adopted for ammonia stripping technology by using energy-saving hot pump,which will recover the latent heat of ammonia vapor from the top of the ammonia stripper.Compared with the conventional ammonia stripping,this optimized technology can not only ensure the NH3-N content no higher than 100 mg/L in the stilled water at bottom of the stripper,but also dramatically decrease the L.P.steam consumption during ammonia stripping,i.e.no higher than 100 kg/h for treating per ton of coal water.

Through computer simulation plus pilot tests,study is conducted in this paper for the mechanism of waste gas recycling technology influencing combustion process in the combustion chamber.Comparison is also made for the changes of NO produced in vertical flues under different amounts of waste gas to be added.This technology could help reduce the O2 content in the combustion air and minimize the NO formation at high-temperature position in the flues,i.e.when the amount of waste gas to be mixed reaches up to 40%,the NO in the waste gas could be cut by about 70%.

Due to the shutdown of some coke ovens,the coke oven gas volume drops sharply,which directly causes temperature drop of Claus furnace.For this reason,COG must be added to maintain normal temperature of Claus furnace.The content of carbonyl sulfur (COS) in Claus tail gas is high after blending with COG.By continuously adjusting the gas blending amount into the Claus furnace,it can not only ensure normal temperature of Claus furnace,but also control the COS in tail gas not too high.
