With the aid of advanced analysis and determination methods,the coal quality and coking characteristics of coking coal from the USA and Russia were comprehensively analyzed and evaluated.The two type of coals belong to high metamorphic coking coal with low ash,low sulfur,poor caking property,moderate coking property and poor coke strength after reaction(CSR).Moreover,the coals from Russia are better lean coking coals and have more advantages in extremely low sulfur as well as price.Based on actual operation,the two kinds of coal can be used as lean coking coal in coal blending,which is beneficial to adjust the particle size of the coke.Measures are taken to optimize the blending amount and ensure the caking property of the blended coal.As a result,coke with better mechanical strength and CRI/CSR can be obtained and the cost of coal blending can be reduced.

In this paper,introduction is made for technical features and cases in sulfuric acid making process from desulfurization wastewater,which is characterized with “sulfur slurry feeding” and “combustion with rich oxygen air”.This process has advantages of high efficiency,stable operation,safety,environment\|friendliness and high automation level.The process has been put into operation in large\|scale coking plants in China,which has effectively tackled the problems,such as the unmarketable low purity sulfur,poor utilization of sulfur resource and desulfurization wastewater pollution due to wet catalytic oxidation process with HPF & PDS as catalyst and with ammonia as alkali source.It is proved to be a solution for sustainable development of coking industry in the long run.

In order to realize optimization of coal crushing for coal blending,6 single kinds of coals and 2 kinds of blended coal were screened for preparation of different sizes distribution i.e.>3 mm,3~1 mm,1~0.5 mm,0.5~0.1 mm,and <0.1 mm.Analysis was made for the coal sample of each graded component in ash content,sulfur and G value.Compared with conventional coal indexes,study was done for different coal kinds,different screening gradation of different coal quality.The correlation between the fineness of each coal and HGI was also studied.The results show that HGI has a good correlation with the fineness of cleaned coal.The ash content of each coal showed a trend of first decreasing and then increasing with the decrease of grain size,while the sulfur content showed a trend of gradually increasing,and the caking index of each coal was slightly different.The trend of ash content of each grain size component of mixed coal is consistent with that of single coal,but the sulfur content and G value are not.

The optical texture of coke directly determines the quality of coke.At present,the determination of optical texture content of coke is mainly collected by optical microscope,the operation process is complicated,and the manual identification may bring errors.Based on the image analysis,each microstructure in the optical image of the coke is subjected to characteristics interception.RGB pixel value,Color Moments and Local Binary Pattern (LBP algorithm) are used for extracting their images characteristics.K-Nearest Neighbor,Support Vector Machine and Random Forest are used for classification and identification respectively.The accuracy results show that the image characteristics extraction method based on Color Moment,using the Support Vector Machine model calculation method to identify the coke optical texture can reach 90%.

This paper summarizes the development of micro image analysis on coke pore structure in recent decades.It pointed out that the microscopic image analysis method does not play an important role in guiding the coal blending for cokemaking and the microscopic image analysis method in the characterization of the coke pore structure is advanced.A method of adjusting the pore structure of coke to control the thermal properties of coke is proposed.

The influence of different sample preparation methods on CRI and CSR was studied.The experimental results show that due to different sample preparation methods, the shape of the prepared samples and the surface structure and specific surface area of spherical and bulk samples are different,which makes the reactivity value of mechanical sample spherical sample higher than that of manually-prepared sample,and the strength of spherical sample after reaction is slightly lower than that of block sample.The particle size of the sample also affects the CRI and CSR in a certain range.

The low pressure ammonia liquor is mainly used for cooling crude coke oven gas,once it is cut off,the production would be seriously affected.The replacement of the LP ammonia liquor valve is very risky,in particular more difficult for replacing the main pipe valve.In this paper,a method of on-line replacing LP ammonia liquor valve is introduced,which not only ensures the GCM temperature is controllable in fluctuation,but also effectively avoids potential bleeding of crude gas and avoids damage to crude gas transferring device during the replacement.

In this paper,introduction is made for the vacuum benzol distillation process,including its application in Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co.,Ltd..The steam vacuum process is characterized with low operation temperature,less lean oil slurry and wash oil make-up,low operation cost,safe operation and tail gas free.The commercial operation data proves that the process is stable and reliable which shows great value and promising in the future.

The operational efficiency and stability of cross-tube primary cooler influence COG delivery and by-products recovery to a large extent and the performance of cleaning the primary cooler condensate nozzle affects smooth operation cycle of the primary cooler and gas cooling result as well.Based on the experience in operating the primary cooler for years,the quality of the condensate,composition and stability of the condensate spraying system could greatly stabilize the primary cooler operation and minimize its cleaning frequency.

The crude sulfur and waste desulfurization liquid from HPF unit,after pre-treatment,are respectively sent to combustion furnace.The high temperature flue gas is decreased to 300~320 ℃ via waste heat boiler and produced to 98% concentrated sulfuric acid after twice conversion and twice adsorption.This process produces zero waste liquid,which can thoroughly solve the problem of waste desulfurization liquid pollution and meet the requirement of environment-friendly production.

This paper introduces the application of the three-stage cross tube primary cooler in Bayuquan Ansteel.It analyzes the causes of the blockage of the primary cooler and the increase of the resistance.It also puts forward the solution of cleaning the primary cooler with hot wash oil,and optimizes this technology in production.As a result,solutions were given to problems,such as to remove the blockage in the primary cooler,to lower the gas resistance,to reduce the load of gas exhauster,and to prevent coke oven from bleeding due to the insufficient suction in front of the primary cooler.

The principle and process flow of hydrolysis on desulfurization wastewater by vacuum potassium process are described.Operating conditions of the hydrolysis unit for desulfurization wastewater of Ansteel Chemical Technology Co.,Ltd.are introduced after it was put into production. Besides, the lab report on CN- of the desulfurization wastewater before and after the hydrolysis is analyzed.The result shows that the hydrolysis process has a higher efficiency for total CN- removal,up to 99% in lab condition and 97% in actual operation.It can be put into commercial production in safe,stable and continuous manner.

The application of desulfurization and denitrification technology of active coke on Masteel 7.63 m coke oven does not need additional system for treating by\|products,it reduces investment and produces no secondary pollution.The system has a good operating effect.Based on the actual operation of 7.63 m coke oven in Masteel,the operating cost for per ton of coke by this technology is 8.20 yuan/t coke.When the market price of active coke is at a low level and the coke oven is running under full load,the operating cost of the system will be further reduced to 6.85 yuan/t coke,which can match with the operating cost calculation in design.
