This paper introduces an environment-friendly coke production for domestic use replacing raw coal,which can fundamentally cut pollutant and minimize the environment pollution.It also describes the impact of firing raw coal to the environment as well as experiences in research,execution and promotion of environment-friendly coke for domestic use by Taiyuan municipal government.An approach of coking enterprises transformation by utilizing surplus cokemaking capacity in China is also given in this paper.
This paper introduces the development and application of new CDQ technology.The application of this new technology extends the maintenance interval, and shortens the maintenance time.It is hopeful that total CDQ mode will become the operation mode for newly built large scale steel complex.

The influence of semi-coke grain size on density of briquetted coal and strength of briquetted coke is studied.It is found that,as the grain size of semi-coke breeze decreases,the strength of briquetted coke increases,and then declines after reaching the peak where the grain size of semi-coke is below 3mm.The strength of briquetted coke produced can be increased significantly when the best blending ratio is adopted.
This paper introduces the design principle of emergency spraying system for CDQ belt conveyor and proposes an optimum solution to the problems in the existing system as well as the break time of globe valve in order for a safe and stable running of the belt conveyor.
The experimental study shows that coke quality can be improved by adding modified pitch to coking coal.After the application of modified pitch,it reduces CRI by an average of 3.82% and raises CSR by an average of 3.49%,a noticeable improvement in coke quality index.

Analysis and suggestion on limit value of SO2 emission from coke oven chimney
The limit value of SO2 emitted from coke oven chimney is defined as 50mg/Nm3 in the GB 16171-2012 “Emission standard of pollutants for coking chemical industry”.Most of coking plants can’t reach the limit value even the operation is in good condition.This paper analyzes the factors which effect the concentration of SO2 in chimney and provides with some reasonable suggestions and supplement for GB 16171—2012.
The important effect of hot-air system for protecting from acid raining and expanding the fume as well as avoiding corrosion during desulfurization is introduced.Meanwhile, the modes of the effect and related calculation are also stated.
In view of big quality fluctuation of bought-out coke which would disturb stable production of blast furnace,Ma Steel Coking Plant therefore changes the method of coke gradation conveying to that of total coke conveying which improves the homemade metallurgical coke rate by 4%~5% and dramatically reduces the bought-out quantity for grade 1 metallurgical coke.

Application and effect analysis of CMC in coking plant
The moisture of coal blends can be controlled around 8% by adopting CMC technology utilizing waste gas heat,which achieves satisfied economic benefit and ecological results.The result also shows that energy consumption for cokemaking on dry coal basis can be reduced by 136.4MJ/t,the coking time can be shortened by 0.5 hours, coke output can be increased by 2.7% and coke quality can be improved.In view of the problems found in actual production,effective solutions are proposed in this paper to ensure the utilization efficiency of the CMC technology.

At the moment,tail gas generated by an HPF process (wet oxidation process) cannot be treated properly.Through component analysis of the tail gas,it is found that the tail gas can be charged into a tubular furnace to be incinerated with air as a way to curb tail gas pollution.
Study on wet desulfurization process for coke oven flue gas

Process and operation of maltha and modified alsphalt productions are introduced.With reasonable design and less investment,the profitable process is able to produce maltha of 8 000t/month and handle coal tar of 220 000t/a.The device for producing modified alsphalt has features with compact structure,easy operation, highly automatized, stable & qualified product.
Regarding to the defects of tube heat exchangers in crude benzol unit,two sets of spiral plate heat exchangers are additionally provided,which significantly improves the heat exchange efficiency between lean and rich oil,and reduces energy consumption of this unit.
The determination of Benzo(a)pyrene content in coal tar pitch by gas chromatography is introduced.SE-54 capillary column and FID flame ionization detector are used for quantitative analysis by external standard method.Result shows that linear relationship is good.The method has exact result,easy operation and high sensitivity.
Application of demulsifier in tar-ammonia liquor separation system
In view of poor separation of tar and ammonia liquor in coking plant at present,this paper introduces a solution of using demulsifier Bulab8604 to improve the separation of tar and ammonia liquor as well as the working condition of gas purification system.This solution will benefit the coking plant in a manner of safe and stable operation with sound economic performance and environmental benefit.
With coke breeze precipitated from CDQ dedusting as absorbent, the removal efficiency of COD,volatile phenol and NH3-N in coking waste water by CDQ coke breeze are investigated,including the coke breeze recycling condition.Under the required testing conditions,the removal efficiencies of COD,volatile phenol and NH3-N by coke breeze are measured 71.4%,76.9% and 8.3% respectively.Furthermore, the coke breeze can’t be recycled without regeneration.
Analysis and improvement of ammonia stripping process by heat transfer oil
The problems in ammonia stripping process by heat transfer oil is analyzed.After improvement, the efficiency of ammonia stripping is increased,the index of waste water is stabilized and maintenance costs of the equipment are lowered.
The achievements in the coking industry in China with respect to scale,technology innovation,energy saving and emission control and industrial chain construction are discussed.The development trend of coking industry in the aspects of production and consumption,further treatment of gas,energy saving and environmental protection during the 13th Five-Year Plan period is analyzed.Relevant recommendations are proposed in this paper.
Vitrinite reflectance and standard deviation of 28 individual coals were tested automatically and manually. The reasons for the different results between the two testing methods were analyzed. Relevancy fitting was made for the test results, and it was found that the both values showed obvious linear relationship. The relevancy of vitrinite reflectance is higher than that of standard deviation.
Statistical method is adopted to study the relationship between the coke fine recovery rate under blast furnace trough and consumption of coke stored on the ground,coke transfer and average grain size,so as to determine the key factors influencing the average grain size of metallurgical coke. The result is taken to guide the production operation of coke oven battery and optimize the storage and transfer of coke. Coke fine recovery rate under blast furnace trough can be reduced and the average grain size of charging coke is improved.
The relationship between main indexes of coke was studied based on long time collection of coke quality inspection data.The result shows that the smaller the screened coke grain size,the higher the moisture content;sulfur content is linear with ash content;for coke with same initial grain size and conveyed via same transfer route,coke breeze content increases as M25 decreases.
To study the influence of screened grain size of coal blend on coal quality,4 sampling coals were selected at random,with each divided into 7 batches of different grain size,to analyze the ash content,volatile content,thickness of plastic layer,caking index and sulfur content.The influence of screened grain size of coal blend on coal quality was observed by comparing the results with normal analysis data.
The indexes of domestic high sulfur coking coal containing 2% sulfur were analyzed.Study on optimizing the blending of domestic high sulfur coking coal and imported low sulfur coking coal was carried out with a 40kg pilot coke oven battery, and industrial test was carried out in 6m top charging coke oven battery.The result shows that a blending ratio of 6.5%~8% can be obtained, and coal blending cost can be reduced by 5~10RMB/t after optimized blending of domestic high sulfur coking coal and imported low sulfur coking coal.
This paper introduces a special device monitoring the coal cake shrinkage during coal cake carbonization process.A new method was deduced to analyze the reason for high pushing current.By means of this new method,the heating conditions or coal blending ratio can be quantitatively analyzed,estimated and optimized.Therefore,the purpose of stabilizing production,reducing coking heat consumption and maximizing battery life can be realized.
Through analysis on coke cake center temperature,cross wall temperature coefficient,end flue temperature coefficient,bottom pressure in coking chamber and heat consumption for coking,it can be concluded that the current thermo-tech conditions of coke oven meet the requirement for maturing coke.Optimization on determination of standard temperature,adjustment of cross wall temperature,control of end flue temperature and GC main pressure has been proposed to continuously improve the heating conditions of coke oven battery.
Influence of coking process on tar recovery
The influence of temperature and space during coking process on tar recovery is studied.The result shows that temperature and clear space are very important to the recovery rate of tar.The hot strength of coke is in proportion to the recovery of tar to a certain extent.
Regarding to the problem of environmental pollution caused by smoke escaping during coal charging of JNDK 43-99D stamp-charging coke oven,modification was made for the existing de-dusting device.The technology of smoke guiding with U tube was adopted to control the charging emissions.
Regarding to the SOx and NOx contained in coke oven flue gas,an integrated wet desulfurization and denitration process and structure combining the processes of flue gas waste heat recovery,wet super turbulent ammonia desulfurization and forced oxidation of urea denitration is proposed.With application of this new technology,the discharged coke oven flue gas can meet the standard requirement after desulfurization and low temperature denitration,low pressure steam and ammonia sulfate are produced as by-products,escaping of ammonia can be avoided and no waste water or slag is discharged.
The reason for the low lateral temperature coefficient of coking chamber No.52 of 7.63m coke oven is analyzed.The corbel zone of coking chamber is cleaned under hot state.After cleaning,the lateral temperature coefficient is improved greatly.The coke oven battery gets back to normal production,and the problem of environmental pollution is easier to control.
Slurry based fuel oil can be obtained by adding appropriate portion of petroleum coke fines,stabilizer and viscosity reducer into the mixture of pitch and anthracene oil.The influence of adding ratio of stabilizer and viscosity reducer,and grain size and content of petroleum coke fines to the performance of slurry based fuel oil is studied.
This technology is used to homogenize the coal tar pitch from different origins in proportion.With homogeneous coal tar pitch as raw material,the needle coke production system runs smoothly,product recovery rate is high,less solvent is consumed,and the coke quality is stable.
As crude benzole recovery rate is low,the factors affecting the crude benzole recovery rate are analyzed. Improvement measures such as reducing the resistance of benzole scrubber,increasing circulating wash oil flow,reducing the absorbing temperature of benzole scrubber,increasing reflux of crude benzole still and improving the quality of circulating wash oil,have been taken to improve the crude benzol recovery rate.The average crude benzole recovery rate is improved to 0.91% from 0.8%.
This paper studies the selection and proportioning of azeotrope former for refinement of 2-methyl quinoline by azeotropic distillation. The difficulty in separating and removing 8-methyl quinoline is solved,and 2-methyl quinoline with purity of 96.3% can be obtained.
Quality requirement on raw material and production process parameters for production of medium temperature modified asphalt without intermediate phase are determined through thermal polymerization tests with different raw materials.Qualified medium temperature modified asphalt without intermediate phase can be produced by adjusting tar distillation and asphalt modification parameters.
Reason for increased sulfur content in gas after benzol scrubber and corresponding measures
The reason for higher H2S content in the gas after benzole scrubber than H2S content in the gas after H2S scrubber is analyzed in this paper.Corresponding measures are proposed to reduce H2S content in the gas after benzole scrubber.
This paper introduces the principle,method,process and effect of acid-making tail gas purification with use of waste NaOH liquor.SO2,SO3 and acid mist contained in acid-making tail gas can be reduced to 40mg/m3 or lower.Nitric oxides are reduced to a large extent,which is a great benefit to the environment.
The traditional way of sulfur storage has the problems of pungent smell and high risk.Improvement has been made by providing rotary type flaker to deal with the liquid sulfur.As a result,the field environment is improved,while risk and labor force are reduced remarkably.

The difference of applying hot tapping and plugging technology on gas pipeline between plateau area and plain area is analyzed from the aspect of gas gravity diffusion.The application of hot tapping and plugging technology on the emergency repair and maintenance of industrial pipeline in plateau area is introduced in this paper.
Study on “Technical specification of mechanical sample preparation for measuring coke reactivity index and coke strength after reaction”
This paper introduces the compilation background of the new standard YB/T 4494—2015“Technical specification of mechanical sample preparation for measuring coke reactivityindex and coke strength after reaction”,and determination of main technical indexes.Comparison is made between this standard and ISO 18894:2006 and GB/T 4000—2008.Theimplementation of this standard will further improve the reliability of coke quality testing and data.
H2 and methane gas are obtained through coke oven gas (COG) purification process.Methane is first compressed to compressed natural gas (CNG),and then further liquefied at -196℃ to liquefied natural gas (LNG).Through economic and technical analysis on the technology of H2 and LNG preparation by COG purification,it can be concluded that comprehensive use of COG is a new development direction.
Study on the gasification reaction characteristics of different grain size coke
Gasification reaction tests with CO2 are carried out for coke of three grain sizes,and corresponding gasification reaction characteristic data are obtained.The tests show that the gasification reaction characteristic data of coke breeze less than 0.074mm are not related with CRI,so it can be used to evaluate the chemical reactivity of coke matrix only,and cannot be used to evaluate the gasification reaction characteristic of coke; the gasification reaction characteristic data of 3~6mm coke are related with CRI,so it can be used as the index for evaluating the gasification reaction characteristic of coke.
Improvement on the expansion joint at the inlet and outlet of CDQ primary de-duster
The structure of the expansion joint at the inlet and outlet of CDQ primary de-duster is modified to improve the service life of the expansion joint,reduce the replacement frequency and difficulty,and reduce the cost of expansion joint,so that the CDQ chamber can be operated stably for a long term.
This paper introduces the CDQ heating up plan with hot coke after annual overhaul,and analyzes the problems occurred during heating up. Heating up with hot coke can ensure uniform temperature rising of all the temperature control points in the CDQ chamber,so it is worthy of spreading.
The reflectance distribution of coal vitrinite and maceral in the coal maceral analysis are used to identify different coals and evaluate coal quality,so that the monitoring ofcoal sources is strengthened.It is a strong technical support for optimizing coal blending structure.
This paper analyzes the reason for the blockage of 140t/h CDQ cooling sleeve during operation.Through physical and chemical analysis on the slag,the reason for slag forming was found out.The problem of slag formation in the cooling sleeve was solved by optimizing the field operation and management.
Studies show that during coking,for coking coal with different metamorphic degree,the initial separating out temperatures of sulfur are different,the variation rules of total sulfur and organic sulfur are the same as the temperature changes,and the desulfurization rates from iron sulphide are the same as the temperature increases.To control the sulfur content in coke,coal with high sulfur content shall be properly used for coking based on sulfur content of various form and the desulfurization rule of organic sulfur during coking.
The absorption process of alkali metal salt by coke at the top part of blast furnace was simulated.Based on the coke sample analysis, the comprehensive influence of alkali metal salt and alkali metal to the thermal properties of coke was determined.In addition, the relationship between coke and alkali metal is analyzed in this paper.
Based on heating up process of coke oven battery and the NOx formation conditions during the combustion,the main factors causing the generation of NOx during heating of coke oven battery are analyzed. A NOx control technology based on LSSVM and genetic algorithms is proposed.
Damage of the water seal tank at the inlet of CDQ chamber will influence the safe operation of CDQ chamber.The problems of coke breeze settling in the water seal tank, high temperature resistance and abrasion resistance of the working surface are studied and corresponding measures are taken.The service life of the water seal tank is prolonged in practice.
Regarding to the problems of high temperature at the installation position,difficulty in maintenance and low adjustment accuracy of the actuator in CPS system,improvements have been made by changing the position of actuator and installation of connecting bar. Maintenance is less difficult after improvement,and the service life of CPS system is prolonged.
The polymerization performance of medium temperature pitch was studied through experiment.In the actual production,various medium temperature modified pitch can be produced by polymerization method through proper control of reaction temperature,polymerization time and vacuum pressure.
The automation level of spray type saturator is low,so acid adding and mother liquid making up to the saturator are carried out manually.This paper introduces a design for automatic making up of mother liquid by overflow trough which is controlled by DCS,so as to realize automatic making up of mother liquid to the saturator.Therefore the production efficiency and stability are improved.
The factors influencing the absorption of active carbon were analyzed through experiment. Through the regeneration test of waste active carbon,the factors influencing the regeneration of active carbon were determined.
This paper studies the influence of gas temperature,mother liquor acidity and density on ammonia content in gas after the saturator.It is observed that gas temperature and acid adding show great influence on ammonia content in gas after the saturator.To reduce ammonia content in gas after the saturator,gas temperature shall be reduced as much as possible,and the parameters of mother liquor shall be stabilized quickly during acid adding.
This paper describes the problems found in the crude benzol refining process with the technology of low temperature gas phase hydrogenation and extractive distillation, and proposes corresponding measures.The technology of low temperature gas phase hydrogenation and extractive distillation can reduce the sulfur content in product, and improves product quality and recovery rate.
The influence of gas flow, circulating wash oil flow and packings to the resistance of benzole scrubber is studied.Effective measures are proposed and taken by rationally controlling the flow of gas and circulating wash oil,improving the quality of circulating wash oil,and preventing blockage of packings.As a result,the recovery rate of light benzene is increased.
This paper introduces the application of advanced oxidation process in treatment of vacuum potassium carbonate desulfurization waste water.The optimum proportion of oxidant is determined.The experiment shows that COD removal rate is higher than 60%, which meets the biological and chemical indexes for discharging.
As more light tar and less heavy tar are generated under low temperature carbonization,there are some defects of vertical tar ammonia separation tank in the low temperature carbonization process. Regarding to these defects,proper height is discussed for separating light tar,and improvement design for liquid inlet,emulsion,recover pipe and inspection pipe for heavy tar is proposed.
Regarding to the problems of air pollution and high cost in the reuse of crude benzol residue in coal blending,recovery and utilization of crude benzol residue can be realized through technological modification,which brings stable production and considerable economic benefit.
