This paper analyzes the smelting process of continuous casting and LF/LF+VD,VOD,
RH,SL/KIP,CAS/CAS-OB refining technologies. The main types of refractories for continuous
casting ladle and refining ladle lining are summarized. The advantages and disadvantages of
refractories for steel ladle lining are simply analyzed. The new development of MgO-C brick,
Al2O3-MgO-C brick,MgO-CaO(-C)brick,high alumina brick, MgO-Cr2O3 brick,Al2O3-
MgO-spinel carbon brick,Al2O3-MgO unburned brick,unshaped refractory technology and energy
saving technologies for continuous casting ladle and refining ladle lining are discussed in details.
It is pointed out that the refractory technologies for continuous casting ladle and refining ladle have
made remarkable progress,so the steel ladle lives have been significantly increased.

This paper elaborates on the hard press-in lining technology for BF,and explains
the problems of the existing hard pressed lining materials. On this basis,this paper proposes the
necessity of developing a new type of hard press-in lining material. A new type of hard press-in
material is developed on basis of original hard press-in material with high-purity silica sol as a
binder and aluminum micro powder as additives. The paper also introduces the application of the
new material on BF No.3 of Honghe Steel. The results show that the new type of hard press-in lining
material has not only superior physical properties,but also significantly improved service life and
maintenance frequency in industrial tests. It can meet the actual operation of BF and be widely
promoted and applied.

Abstract:MgO-Al2O3-C slide plates are suitable for casting calcium-treated steel. The influences
of magnesia types on the performance of slide plates are compared in this paper. The results
show that fused magnesia and sintered magnesia have little difference in the effects on the bulk
density,porosity,compressive strength, linear expansion rate(at 1 500 ℃), slag resistance
and hydration resistance of the samples. However,the samples with sintered magnesia have
lower flexural strength at both room temperature and high temperature,but better thermal shock
resistance;while those with fused magnesia have little linear change on reheating and good
oxidation resistance.

This paper introduces the working principle of the energy-efficient lime shaft kiln
and the burning mechanism of the lining working layer,analyzes the advantages of wet spraying
technology for the lining,and briefly describes the selection of spray coating, spraying process
operation,ignition and drying kiln. Practice has proved that wet spraying technology can save a
lot of maintenance funds,shorten the shutdown time of the kiln,and reduce the economic losses
caused by kiln shutdown compared with the traditional refractory masonry technology,while
improving the kiln wall effect,which can bring considerable economic benefits to enterprises.

Because the radial crack of the rotary kiln head wheel belt is 15 cm and the maximum
crack depth is 7 cm,the wheel belt should be replaced as a whole. According to the actual situation
on the spot,the reasonable supporting and hoisting scheme of the cylinder body is made,and the
alignment of the coaxial degree of the cylinder body,the flaw detection of the welding seam and
the gap adjustment of the wheel belt are all within the allowable error range after the wheel belt is
replaced,the wheel belt and the cushion plate are replaced safely and efficiently.

With magnesium and calcium sand and silicon powder as raw materials and organic
modified powder as additive,castor oil and new organic liquid binder were used to prepare AOD
refining furnace bottom,and study the influences of different binders on magnesia-calcium
ramming material performance. The test results show that the ramming materials prepared by new
organic liquid binder has better physical properties after heat treatment at 280 ℃,1 000 ℃ and 1 500 ℃ .
The results show that the magnesia-calcium ramming material prepared by new organic liquid agent
is used in 90 t AOD refining furnace of a steel mill,and its service life reaches 85 heats. MgOCaO
ramming material is smokeless,environment-friendly and high strength, which can meet the
use requirements of steel mills.

The main raw materials for preparing anhydrous gun mud for blast furnaces are fused
corundum,97 silicon carbide,coke powder,active aluminum oxide powder,and Guangxi clay,
with phenolic resin as the binder,and the addition ratio of anticorrosive agent ACAO is 0 ~ 3%.
This article analyzes the effect of changes in ACAO dosage on the performances of gun mud under
ambient temperature and high temperature. The results show that with the increased addition of
ACAO,the plasticity of the gun mud deteriorates. After being processed at 300 ℃,the apparent
porosity of the sample gradually decreases,the bulk density gradually increases,and the strength
continuously improves;while after being processed at 1 400 ℃,the porosity of the sample
gradually decreases,the bulk density gradually increases,the strength continuously improves,
and the high-temperature bending strength gets better.

Calcium carbide is an important basic chemical raw material for the production of
PVC, lime nitrogen,acetylene gas and other products. About 50 million tons of calcium carbide
slag are produced every year,in order to promote the transformation from“resources-productsemissions”
model to“resources-products-renewable resources” model,reduce the consumption
of limestone ore and achieve the double carbon target. This paper introduces in detail a kind of
energy-saving and environment-friendly circulating suspension calcination technology of calcium
carbide slag, which can produce active lime as well as medium-speed lime through the adjustment
of circulating ratio,so that the value of circulating utilization of calcium carbide slag can be

In order to reduce the cost while enhance the quality of zircon ramming material,and
improve the construction efficiency on site,experiments on the dosage of fused zirconia-corundum
powder under the action of two different binding agents,industrial phosphoric acid(85%)and silica
sol(40%),are conducted using zircon bricks and zircon sands as aggregates,and zircon powder,
zircon micro powder,and recycled electrofused zirconia-corundum powder as fine powders. The
results show that zircon ramming material with 5% recycled fused zirconia-corundum powder dosed
and silica sol(40% concentration)as binding agent has short curing time,low apparent porosity,
high strength and good construction performance. In the industrial experiments conducted,a glass
kiln used for more than 4 years but still in good conditions is used,with its bath bottom meeting the
service life and construction requirements,to present a good effect.
