Abstract: This paper elaborates on the hard press-in lining technology for BF，and explains
the problems of the existing hard pressed lining materials. On this basis，this paper proposes the
necessity of developing a new type of hard press-in lining material. A new type of hard press-in
material is developed on basis of original hard press-in material with high-purity silica sol as a
binder and aluminum micro powder as additives. The paper also introduces the application of the
new material on BF No.3 of Honghe Steel. The results show that the new type of hard press-in lining
material has not only superior physical properties，but also significantly improved service life and
maintenance frequency in industrial tests. It can meet the actual operation of BF and be widely
promoted and applied.
