Abstract: Abstract:MgO-Al2O3-C slide plates are suitable for casting calcium-treated steel. The influences of magnesia types on the performance of slide plates are compared in this paper. The results show that fused magnesia and sintered magnesia have little difference in the effects on the bulk density,porosity,compressive strength, linear expansion rate(at 1 500 ℃), slag resistance and hydration resistance of the samples. However,the samples with sintered magnesia have lower flexural strength at both room temperature and high temperature,but better thermal shock resistance;while those with fused magnesia have little linear change on reheating and good oxidation resistance.
