Abstract: After the coke oven is cooled to normal temperature, damages, severe or slight，would appear on different positions of oven proper due to physical properties of silica brick, structural characteristics of the coke oven and the shutdown operation mode，etc.. According to the specific situation of coke oven after shutdown and relevant theoretical analysis，this paper expounds the key points and bottlenecks of maintenance with restart，and proposes solutions from the perspective of design and construction. After this technology is put into application，the coke oven is in stable operation, which proves that it is feasible to adopt this technology for maintenance with shutdown and restart.
