Abstract:

Different proportions of steel slag were added to the 1/3 coking coal to produce coke, and the properties of coke produced were studied. The result showed that the amount of steel slag should not be too high to control the content of ash and sulfur in coke. The reactivity of coke increased with addition of steel slag increased, while the coke strength after reaction decreased. With same amount of steel slag added, the smaller the grain size, the greater influence on the thermal property of coke. The specific area of coke increased first and then decreased as the solution loss reaction continued.SEM study showed that there was no obvious change in pore structure when the addition of steel slag is less than 5%.
