Abstract: With magnesium and calcium sand and silicon powder as raw materials and organic modified powder as additive,castor oil and new organic liquid binder were used to prepare AOD refining furnace bottom,and study the influences of different binders on magnesia-calcium ramming material performance. The test results show that the ramming materials prepared by new organic liquid binder has better physical properties after heat treatment at 280 ℃,1 000 ℃ and 1 500 ℃ . The results show that the magnesia-calcium ramming material prepared by new organic liquid agent is used in 90 t AOD refining furnace of a steel mill,and its service life reaches 85 heats. MgOCaO ramming material is smokeless,environment-friendly and high strength, which can meet the use requirements of steel mills.
