An enclosed type coal yard with large span could be in structure of space grid,latticed shell,spatial pipe truss structure,etc..Based on the actual project case,this paper introduces the designing process for spatial pipe truss structure in terms of load value determination,load combination,structure analysis and joint design,etc..Its advantages are also discussed in aspect of steel consumption.
