Abstract:
Different proportions of steel slag were added to coking coal to produce coke.Thermal property of coke produced was studied. The result showed that coke reactivity increased with the addition amount of steel slag until it reached a saturation point, while the coke strength after reaction decreased continuously.Specific surface area and SEM study showed that higher reactivity resulted in bigger pore size, which may link up each other, and consequently the specific surface area and coke strength after reaction were reduced. It was also observed that steel slag particles were uniformly distributed in coke.
