Abstract:

Using polyethylene glycol as modifying agent, the process of reducing the content of benzo[a] pyrene in coal tar pitch under solvent condition is studied. The study shows that when the reaction solvent ratio is 2∶1 in volume between cyclohexane and toluene, the sulfuric acid and polyethylene glycol 600 used are 6.67% and 10% in weight of the coal tar pitch respectively, and the reaction takes place under the temperature of 80℃ for 5h,benzo[a] pyrene can be removed up to 85.59%.
