This paper introduces the classification and smelting technology of steelmaking converter,analyzes the damage mechanism of refractories used in converter,summarizes the main types of refractories used in converter system,focuses on the development and application of new refractory technologies for converter,such as high performance MgO-C brick,eco-friendly unshaped repair material and high-temperature gunning technology,purging plug (top-bottom combined blowing technology) and slag-stopping sliding plate technology,and points out the main develpment direction of the refractories for steelmaking converter.

The refractory matching of the inner linning in 1 300 t iron mixer furnace and the fireclay for masonry were optimized.The slag line parts of the lower part of the end wall and the front and rear walls of the mixer side,which were seriously eroded inside the mixer furnace,were repaired and casted by using aluminum silicon carbide castable,thus effectively prolonging the service life of the mixer furnace for 8 months.The lining repair and casting technology has the advantages of simple operation process,reduced refractory consumption and low cost.

This paper studies and analyzes the pyrolysis products of low carbon MgO-C bricks at different carbonization temperatures.The results show that Al2O3 (s) and Al4C3 (s) may be stable at different carbonization temperatures,and with the increase of heat treatment temperature,the graphitization degree of phenolic resin pyrolytic carbon is getting higher and higher,and the anti-oxidation ability is gradually enhanced.

Mullite-corundum castables has been developed by using ρ-Al2O3 instead of calcium aluminate cement as binder,with mullite and tabular corundum as main materials,adding a certain amount of white corundum fine powder,α-Al2O3 micro powder,SiO2 micro powder,kyanite,aluminum metal powder and steel fiber,as well as explosion-proof fiber,polycarboxylate superplasticizer and composite regulator.Such produced tundish cover has been applied in a steel works,whose service life is up to 21 cycles (185 furnaces),and 50%~60% higher than that of the traditional calcium aluminate cement bonded ones on average,meeting the requirements of continuous casting technology.

In this study,the siliceous refractories were prepared with tridymite and α-quartz,with the α-quartz phase contents of 0.4%,1.0%,2.0%,3.0%,4.0%,5.0%,6.0%,respectively. The contents of α-quartz phase were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD),and the working curve was drawn according to the linear relationship of diffraction intensity and the content of α-quartz phase. With the curve,the contents of α-quartz phase in siliceous refractories can be accurately and quantitatively analyzed.

The effects of carboxymethyl cellulose content on the viscosity,adhesion,spreading and suspension stability of graphite coating for slide gate were studied.The results showed that the viscosity,suspension stability,adhesion and spreading ability of the coating increased with the addition of cellulose,and the overall performance of the coating was the best when the addition of cellulose was 0.6%.The production practice has proved that the slide gate graphite coating with 0.6% cellulose addition has good workability,good adhesion and no falling off.

Coal gangue is the solid waste discharged in the processes of coal mining and coal washing,and it is a kind of black gray rock with lower carbon content and harder than coal in the process of coal forming.Coal gangue is one of the largest industrial wastes in China.In this paper,the research progress of high value materials such as aluminum-based chemical raw materials,building materials and porous ceramics using coal gangue is reviewed,and the prospect of its application development is forecasted.

In view of the poor environment in the blower room of the Maerz kiln,by adding the dust removal and air inlet filter device,installing the axial flow fan and installing the filter screen on the wall surface,the centralized air inlet filter of the blower was realized,the operating environment of the existing blower was improved,and the energy consumption is reduced.
