Abstract:

In this paper, the impact to coke properties by adding boron homologues to blending coals is studied. The result shows that the caking of blended coal and cold strength of coke would get worse as BO、BA and BX are added and the coke thermal properties would also appear degradation trend with adding amount increased. It also indicates that TD added to the blended coal would not impact the coal caking and cold strength of coke but can obviously improve the thermal properties of coke. Coke optical texture test shows that TD can promote the development of coke anisotropy. Furthermore the XRD analysis shows that TD can upgrade the graphitization of coke.
